2010 Wobble – Another Great Weekend

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

First of all, a big Thank You goes to all those who attended and all those who helped out on the day.

I think it’s fair to say that this year was another success as we saw the ongoing development of the Wobble as a brilliant community event for all. The new attractions for 2010 enriched the weekend, with a great competition in the MTB Trophy Challenge, massive fun on the Wacky Bikes, a solid workout on the spinning bikes from Harridges and some fabulous fencing from Wessex Blades. We had strong represntation from the WASC (Warminster Adventure Sports Club) and there were even some brave enough to tackle 40 miles of road riding on the Saturday!

Check back for pictures and reports in the coming days.

Thanks again from everyone here at the Wobble.

Mountain Bike Trophy Challenge

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

This year we’re giving you the opportunity to ride in a time – trial challenge on a small course only a stones throw away from the Town Park.

The Mountain Bike Trophy Challenge takes place on Sunday the 20th. The course is rough and steep in places with both downhills and uphills… but more downhills, so a mountain bike is definitely the weapon of choice. You can bring your own bike or use a bike supplied by ourselves. The course will be marked with slalom style gates and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

The ride with the fastest time will be presented with the Frank Batchelor Memorial Trophy in memory of the late Frank Batchelor.

Of course, your bikes will be checked (brakes!) and you’ll need to sign our disclaimer to take part. Check out the vid below for a look at the course. I did say it was bumpy…

Funding

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

We have successfully managed to raise £1500 in funds for this year’s event! Our deepest gratitude goes to those who have made it possible to stage the second year of the Warminster Wobble.

Warminster Town Council – have donated £500 for event organisation.

Wiltshire Council – have donated £500 for event organisation.

The Fudge Trust – have donated £500 for event organisation.

We would like to thank these organisations for their contributions. The help it gives us in organising the event is invaluable.

Thanks to this funding, we can bring a weekend of cycling for all to Warminster.

As always the more funding we have, the bigger the event can become. If you are a potential sponsor interested in supporting the Warminster Wobble then please get in contact to have a chat.
